Atlas Recognized Among Sri Lanka’s Most Respected Entities

Atlas, Sri Lanka’s most-loved learning brand and largest manufacturer of stationery products, has earned a coveted place on LMD’s ranking of Sri Lanka’s Most Respected Entities 2021. This prestigious ranking is based on research carried out by Nielson involving 800 “Manager and above” personnel within the corporate sector. The Most Respected Entities ranking by LMD is one of the most distinguished accolades within Sri Lanka’s corporate sector and reflects the positive everyday role that Atlas plays in the lives of children and parents.

Discussing the entry into the rankings, Asitha Samaraweera, Managing Director at Atlas Axillia Co. said, “Being ranked amongst Sri Lanka’s Most Respected Entities by LMD, is a great honour. It demonstrates that our products and outreach programmes, such as Atlas SipSavi, are positively impacting the lives of people. From our inception, our goal has been to provide Sri Lankans with world class tools for learning. Today, through all our products, activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives, we seek to facilitate creating enjoyable learning experiences and equal learning opportunities so that every child has a better chance to pursue their dreams. We take this opportunity to thank our loyal stakeholders, and LMD, for providing us with this recognition and being with us on our journey.”

Through the Atlas SipSavi initiative, Atlas engages in a wide-range of ongoing and growing community and social development activities. Most notably, the Atlas SipSavi Scholarship, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, is presently helping to financially support the education of 200 underprivileged children at risk of dropping out of school due to financial hardship. A variety of online learning and engagement sessions for children and teachers were also conducted recently, to help keep young learners engaged as they stay safe at home during the pandemic.

A member of the Hemas Group, Atlas is dedicated to enriching the lives of Sri Lanka’s children. The company enjoys island-wide reach and popularity for its entire range of stationery and back-to-school products and the “Atlas” brand is a household name today, having supported the education of millions of Sri Lanka’s children for over 60 years. The Company is constantly searching for new ways to enhance learning experiences in Sri Lanka at every level and will continue to delight present and future generations with new and imaginative, world class tools that make learning fun.
