The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Research & Development to lead innovation and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive new product pipelines, optimize costs, and introduce emerging technologies that strengthen the company’s competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare an accurate and relevant New Product Development CAPEX budget for the financial year.
- Develop and manage the R&D OPEX budget in a timely and precise manner.
- Identify and introduce new technologies through participation in trade and technology forums.
- Lead the execution of local new product development in line with Marketing requirements, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and cost parameters.
- Oversee new product development for IB markets, meeting defined cost and time targets.
- Support the achievement of product gross profit (GP) by delivering R&D cost-saving initiatives.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing R&D team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a leadership capacity.
- Strong passion for innovation, continuous learning, and emerging consumer or digital solutions is an added advantage.
